Ryan Barr is the President and Founder of E2 Building Group, bringing more than 30 years of leadership in commercial construction, design-build project delivery, and real estate development. A graduate of Missouri University of Science and Technology with a degree in Civil Engineering, Ryan has built his career by helping clients successfully navigate every stage of the construction process—from initial planning and preconstruction through project completion.
Throughout his career, Ryan has led the successful delivery of commercial and industrial projects across the manufacturing, healthcare, warehouse, office, retail, senior living, and mixed-use markets. His experience spans engineering, project management, business development, real estate development, and executive leadership, providing clients with a comprehensive understanding of both the technical and business aspects of complex construction projects.
As Founder of E2 Building Group, Ryan is committed to delivering a collaborative, transparent, and client-focused approach built on integrity, disciplined project management, and long-term relationships. Under his leadership, the company continues to serve developers, owners, and businesses throughout the Midwest and across the United States with a focus on quality, innovation, and exceptional service.
Brett Mell serves as Director of Business Development for E2 Building Group, where he is responsible for developing strategic partnerships and fostering relationships with owners, developers, consultants, and industry partners to support the company’s continued growth.
A graduate of Missouri University of Science and Technology with a degree in Civil Engineering, Brett brings 10+ years of construction industry experience to E2 Building Group. Before transitioning into business development, he spent over half of his career in project management and operations, giving him firsthand experience managing complex projects and a practical understanding of the challenges clients face from initial project concepts through construction and project completion.
Leveraging his technical background and operational experience, Brett works closely with clients to identify opportunities, solve challenges early, and develop strategies that reduce risk, improve efficiency, and position projects for long-term success. He believes the strongest partnerships are built on trust, transparency, and a genuine commitment to understanding each client’s business and delivering value beyond a single project.
Shayne Heskin serves as the Director of Operations at E2 Building Group, bringing 10+ years of industry experience and a career built entirely within E2 Building Group’s dedicated team. As a civil and architectural engineering graduate of Missouri University of Science and Technology, Shayne began his career as a Project Engineer and
steadily advanced through the organization — a testament to his commitment, loyalty, expertise, and leadership.
Throughout his career, Shayne has overseen a diverse portfolio of projects across the country spanning the light industrial, warehouse, retail, medical office, and controlled agricultural environment sectors. His deep understanding of construction operations — from the ground up — enables him to lead complex projects with precision, accountability, and a results-driven approach.
Adam Schmidt serves as Senior Project Manager for E2 Building Group, with 10+ years of dedicated commercial construction experience to the team. While earning his Civil Engineering degree at Missouri University of Science and Technology, he started in a co-op role with the firm, ultimately progressing from Project Engineer to Senior Project Manager. This long-term tenure reflects his deep alignment with the company’s core values and operational excellence. Throughout his career, Adam has successfully delivered diverse projects nationwide, managing builds from Colorado to Pennsylvania. His extensive portfolio spans the retail, office, warehouse, and industrial sectors, making him a versatile leader adept at navigating complex market demands.
Jessica Carroll serves as Controller for E2 Building Group, bringing 20 years of construction accounting experience to the firm. She oversees the firm’s financial reporting, job costing, budgeting, and compliance, ensuring accurate and timely insight into the company’s financial performance across the organization. Jessica’s expertise in job costing allows her to track project accounting with precision, while her budgeting oversight supports sound, informed decision-making in every stage of the business. Jessica also maintains strict compliance standards, keeping the company aligned with industry regulations and best financial practices. Known for her thoroughness and diligence, Jessica brings precision and reliability to the E2 Building Group team.
